On July 5, 2019, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, held a meeting of the “rectors” of Kiev churches of the newly created religious structure. This is published on the official website of the OCU.

In particular, according to the press service of the OCU, a meeting of the Kiev "clergy" was held in the meeting room of the academic council of Kiev Orthodox Theological Academy. In addition to Epiphany Dumenko, the secretary of Kiev “metropolis”, “archbishop” Agapit of Vyshgorod, also attended the meeting.

It is reported that "the general state of affairs in the Church", "actual issues from the parish life", and the process of recognition of the OCU by other local Orthodox Churches were discussed at the meeting.

Recall that the previous meeting of clergymen of the Kiev Eparchy of the OCU was held on May 3, 2019, which was chaired then by the “honorary patriarch” Filaret Denisenko, who had the status of ruling bishop in Kiev.

At the meeting of the “Holy Synod” dated June 24, 2019, “patriarch” Filaret was deprived of the right to govern Kiev Eparchy of the OCU, but was left as a member of the “episcopate”. Epiphany became the ruling bishop of the diocese.

Later, in an interview with Channel 5, spokesperson Eustraty Zoria said that after the Holy Synod by virtue of its decision of June 24, 2019, deprived Filaret of the right to be the ruling bishop of Kiev Eparchy, the OCU began to live "according to the canons".
