The clergy and parishioners of the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral of Vinnitsa, taken away by OCU activists, begin the tradition of performing weekly prayers at the walls of the cathedral, reports the website of the Vinnitsa Eparchy of the UOC.

“The existence of an Orthodox religious community is impossible without a liturgical life. Having been deprived of the opportunity to perform Divine services in the Transfiguration Cathedral, the clergy and believers begin the tradition of worshiping outside the cathedral building. Here, every Sunday at 17 o'clock, a moleben with akathist reading will be performed. We invite everyone to prayerfully support the community of the Savior-Transfiguration Cathedral," as noted on the website of the eparchy.

It is stressed that the persecution of the canonical Church only united the religious community of the cathedral, led by Archpriest Nikodim Vygovsky, and now this community is one of the most numerous religious communities in Vinnitsa.

We recall that on December 15, 2018, about 20 young people of the athletic build took away the keys to all the rooms of the cathedral from the guard. Supporters of the OCU seized the temple immediately after the morning service.
