A prayer meeting in defence of the rights of UOC believers in the village of Zadubrovka in the Chernovtsy region began 180 days ago, on February 15, 2019, and continues to this day, as noted on the Facebook page of the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy.

“Today is the 180th day. The Lord does not forget anything ... 180 days ago at Candlemas, on a frosty morning of February 15, 2019, the day-and-night prayer standing of the parish of the Holy Archistratigus Michael Сhurch of the UOC in Zadubrovka in defence of our Faith and our Church began,” the authors of the message wrote. “Only they know how much daily abuse and lie for the faith of Christ have these people endured, only they know how many drunk people have climbed over the fence of the church at night ... how many things have been written in the media ...”

The eparchy reminds that during this time the name and documents of the community have been taken from Zadubrovka believers; their community was forcibly re-registered to the OCU; even a criminal case was opened.

"All the manifestations of OCU love are countless ... But we believe that the Lord does not forget anything, and fervent faith will make evil hearts melt one day…. The prayer standing continues," says the message on the eparchial page.

We recall that on June 9, 2019, the UOC community in the village of Zadubrovka addressed the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. “Almost every liturgy has been accompanied by hostilities for more than 120 days in a row. Vladimir, we voted for PEACE in Ukraine,” ends the appeal of the Orthodox residents of the village to the President.
