On September 27, activists of the PCU announced that they plan to hold a force action on the territory of the Saviour Transfiguration Church in the village of Luka-Meleshkovskaya, Vinnitsa region, as reported in the Vinnitsa Eparchy of the UOC.
Supporters of the new church structure issued an ultimatum to the parishioners of the Saviour Transfiguration Church: either they will give them the keys to their church or at 9:00 а.m. on September 28, 2019, the OCU community will take it by force.
The representatives of the newly created religious organization also threatened the rector, Archpriest Vasily Almukhamed, and his flock with physical violence.
The OCU activists announced their intentions during the round table, which was held at the initiative of the chairman of the Luka-Meleshkovskaya united territorial community Vladimir Sych.
The event was attended by representatives of the religious communities of the canonical Church and the newly created religious organization, as well as employees of the SBU and law enforcement agencies, on whom representatives of the OCU tried to exert pressure. In the presence of law enforcement officials, activists of the new church structure shouted threats against believers.
Earlier, representatives of the religious community of the UOC in Luka-Meleshkovskaya recorded a video message to representatives of the authorities, in which they reminded that they are Ukrainians, parishioners of the UOC, who do not want to pray rather than conflict.
