The head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, believes that only one who saves his skin feels tired of the war in the Donbass. The head of Ukrainian Uniates said this in his Sunday sermon at the Kiev Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, reports the UGCC official website.

In particular, Sviatoslav Shevchuk noted that “Today we hear a lot about the fact that the world is tired of Ukrainian problems. Even sometimes our politicians suggest that the people of Ukraine are tired of the war.”

However, according to him, “in fact, we will see that the one who defends not the people, not Ukraine, but the zone of his own comfort feels tired. During the war, one who wants to save his own skin always feels danger in relation to himself.”

According to Sviatoslav Shevchuk, a person who saves his life in the war gets tired, “because he feels that he does not have in himself, in his heart, the source of that comfort, that life, that prosperity”.

At the same time, the head of Ukrainian Uniates claims that “if we talk today with those who give, who fight on the front, with volunteers who give their time, their energy to help another person, we will see an amazing thing: these people are not tired. On the contrary, they seem to explain to us that one who is able to give everything away can win.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the rhetoric of the UGCC about the war in the Donbass contradicts the position of the Vatican.
