Film about the Primate of the UOC "Our Beatitude" available online
Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine. A screen from the documentary project "Our Beatitude"
A film with an exclusive interview with Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, prepared by the “Inter” TV channel for the anniversary of His Beatitude and telling about his path from a monk to the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, is now available online.
In the documentary, the Archpastor himself talks about his childhood, his desire to become a priest, the trials that he had to go through, the Orthodox Church, and the complexity of primate ministry.
His fellow countrymen, theological seminary comrades, clergymen, and believers also shared their memories of His Beatitude, among them the world-famous Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usyk, who always takes blessings from Metropolitan Onuphry before his fights.
As the UOJ reported earlier, on November 5, 2019, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrated his 75th anniversary. By the decision of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus, on the occasion of the jubilee and considering the hard work of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine was awarded the Order of St. Prince Equal to the Apostles Vladimir, I degree.
