Delegation of Serbian Orthodox Church arrives in Jordan

On February 25, 2020, at the invitation of Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, a delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church, led by Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, arrived at Queen Alia Airport, which is located near Amman, the capital of Jordan. The representatives of the SOC came to Amman to participate in the Synaxis of Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, the press service of the SOC reported.

The mission of the Serbian Church includes Metropolitan Amphilochios of Montenegro and the Littoral, Bishop Irinej of Bačka, Bishop David of Kruševac. The mission was accompanied by Archpriest Milutin Timotievich, Rector of the Prizren Seminary of Niš, Protodeacon Damjan Bozic, Editor-in-Chief of the Orthodox Church and Orthodox Theology magazine, Deacon Alexander Prascevic, Secretary of the Serbian Patriarchal Office, and Deacon Dejan Nakic, Personal Secretary of the Patriarch.

As reported by the UOJ, the Jerusalem Patriarchate will host the Primates and their representatives upon their arrival in Amman, Jordan, from February 25 to their departure on February 27. The meeting of the Primate will be held on February 26.

“The solutions to our biggest problems should be found in the dialogue based on the brotherhood that we share, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will lead us along the path of unity in Christ,” wrote Patriarch Theophilos in a letter telling the details of the upcoming Synaxis.
