The Churches participating in the fraternal gathering in Amman represent the interests of almost 80% of all Orthodox. Archpriest Alexander Ovcharenko, press secretary of the Zaporizhia Diocese of the UOC, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“This is not just a meeting of representatives of 6 Churches. This is a meeting of those who make up the vast majority of the Orthodox Church,” said the clergyman. “There are about 200 million of Orthodox Christians in the world. Those Churches that participate in Amman represent the interests of 160 million people – it is almost 80% of all Orthodox Christians.”

Fr. Alexander emphasized: it’s not important how many primates are present at the meeting in Amman, but the fact that “all of them, present and absent for various reasons, recognize our Beatitude as the Primate of the only canonical Church in Ukraine – the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and this is a recorded fact!”

Recall, on February 26, 2020, in the capital of Jordan, Amman, there is a Synaxis of the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, convened by Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.

The UOJ is broadcasting events online.
