On March 11 at about 16 o'clock, raiders from the OCU took possession of the church in the village of Buderazh of the Zdolbuniv district, Rivne region. Eyewitnesses to the incident told a UOJ correspondent that the schismatics had been preparing for an attempt to seize the church the day before: they had brought some bags, which, apparently, contained the necessary tools to cut the locks.
"Today our people saw some fuss near the doors of the temple and tried to prevent the OCU members to cut the locks, even turned off the electricity so that it was impossible to plug in a grinder,” said Archpriest Vasily Nachev, a cleric of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC. “But it didn't work because people from the UOC were well prepared and brought the autonomous station, with the help of which they connected the electric appliance to the power line and cut the locks.”
Orthodox believers called the police to the incident scene, but the police never made any attempts to resolve the conflict. At the moment, the situation around the church in Buderazh is tense. OCU representatives are holding the temple and being guarded by the police.
Disputes around the Holy Protection Church in the village of Buderazh have been going on for a year and during this time the schismatics have cut the locks on the religious building twice.
As reported earlier, representatives of religious communities of the UOC and the OCU agreed to hold their services on the church territory, without opening the temple until the court decision.
