On November 22, 2022, the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria decided to suspend the commemoration of the name of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, during the Divine Liturgy, the Greek website Romfea reports.
The communiqué of the Synod says that “after Patriarch Kirill of Moscow ignored and remained silent for a long time against the written protests of the Patriarch of Alexandria regarding the recall of the 'exarch' bodies of the ROC from Africa, the liturgical mention of the name of the Patriarch of Moscow by the Primate of the Church of Alexandria would be interrupted for a long time.”
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Synod of the Church of Alexandria would discuss the activities of the Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa.
