The head of the information and publishing center of the Volyn "eparchy of the OCU" Vitaliy Sobko said in an interview with zahid.espreso.tv that the transition to the new church calendar would be a blow to the "Russian world".

“An important and relevant advantage of the transition to the new Julian calendar is that this move will be a blow to the ‘Russian world’. The Russian Church, as well as those churches that gravitate towards it or are under its influence, clings very strongly to the inaccurate and outdated Julian calendar. Thus, the Georgian, Jerusalem, Serbian, Macedonian, and Russian Churches live according to the old Julian calendar. And so do we,” said the representative of the OCU.

As the UOJ previously reported, the churches of the OCU are campaigning to celebrate Christmas on December 25 "with the whole world."
