The head of the Ternopil Regional Council and an MP from the Svoboda party, Mykhaylo Holovko, has proposed to conduct searches at the Pochaiv Lavra, following Kyiv's example, reports 0352.ua.

"Today, when the ice has finally "moved" and searches on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra were conducted, <...> during the inspections they found people without documents, Russian citizens, pro-Russian literature, large amounts of money and more evidence of anti-Ukrainian activities. It is surprising, of course, that similar searches did not take place at the main Orthodox shrine in the Ternopil region – the Pochaiv Lavra! A bill to ban the activities of the Moscow Church has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada once again. That is why I really want the authorities to listen to the public at last and to understand that the prohibition of the enemy Church is very urgent. Renegades and collaborators in holy robes have no place in the Ukrainian shrines," said Mykhailo Holovko.

Also, the head of the regional council demanded that the Svoboda member’s bill No. 7204 "On banning the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of Ukraine", authored by the deputy Oksana Savchuk, be passed.

"The Enemy, anti-Ukrainian, physical structure, which covers itself with Ukrainian Orthodox believers and carries out many years of activity to destroy the Ukrainian State, should be banned at the legislative level<...> Together we bring our Victory closer!" resumed the head the of the regional council.

As reported, starting from November 22, the SBU has carried out a number of searches in monasteries and eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In particular, law enforcers searched the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and the Korets Monastery.
