The entire nation faces the danger of becoming infected with coronavirus that is why the Church is trying its best to help everyone, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich), UOC Chancellor, said in the “Morning with Іnter” programme.

Bishop Anthony said that even those monasteries of the UOC that do not have their own hotels are ready to provide accommodation for doctors.

“Now in the monasteries with no hotels, monks are trying to make room for medical workers. We know that it is very difficult to get to work for nurses, doctors who do not live in Kyiv,” he said.

The bishop also emphasized that the clergy and laity hope to provide every resident with all necessary means of protection against coronavirus infection.

“For the Church, as well as for God, it makes no difference – all face danger now. Therefore, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, it is decided that in each parish protective masks should be distributed to every inhabitant of a village or city,” Metropolitan Anthony emphasized.

Earlier, the Primate of the UOC blessed all dioceses to participate in the fight against a pandemic.
