The spokesman of the UOC Archpriest Mykolay Danylevych commented on the statement of the representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine that the detained priests of the UOC would be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war.

"So far no one has been detained. There were checks, but no one was detained upon results of these checks. And how can UOC clergymen, who are recognized as citizens of Ukraine, who were born in Ukraine and lived here all their lives, be separated from their families and flocks and sent to the Russian Federation? Are some citizens of Ukraine (clergymen) exchanged for other citizens of Ukraine (soldiers)? Or is it just preparation of public opinion for some further steps?" Father Mykolay wrote in his Telegram channel.

He also wondered where the collaborators from among the civil servants, law enforcement officers and workers of other industries would be sent – also to the Russian Federation, or somewhere else.

It will be recalled that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that UOC priests detained during the search might be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
