On April 1, 2020, the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10 thanked the rector of the Sts. Cosmas and Damian Church (UOC) at the National Cancer Institute, Fr. Yevgeny Mileshkin and his parishioners for the help they provided to the medical staff. Volunteer Alexander Brusilovsky posted a letter of gratitude from the medical team on his Facebook page.
In the letter, medical workers said that the cleric of the UOC and the community of his temple helped them to purchase an artificial lung ventilation apparatus.
The temple also helped the Palliative Care Unit purchase protective masks and goggles, work clothes and gloves, as well as drinking water and consumables for the department.
Believers also organized the transportation of the employees of the Palliative Care Unit.
“Gratitude is not a simple recognition of someone else's good deed. To feel grateful means to be glad not only for the gift received but also for the kindness of the giver, the authors of the thank-you letter noted. “And we are glad that next to us, in such a difficult time, there are people who "do care", who are constantly interested and actively participate in helping others".
Earlier it became known that the clergy of the Kyiv Metropolis agreed with the National Police of Ukraine and the Kyiv Coordination Centre on cooperation in combating the spread of coronavirus.
