During the Easter holidays in Lviv, there are no additional restrictions on the movement of citizens within the framework of the fight against coronavirus, but all churches in the city will be closed, said Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovoy on hromadske.

"All temples of Lviv will be closed,” he said. “Inside are only fathers and those who provide the process. There will be an online broadcast from the main temples of the city. This is a clear position of both Roman Catholics and Greek Catholics, as well as the Orthodox".

According to him, RCC priests, who will celebrate Easter this Sunday, will conduct an online broadcast of the service and recommend to consecrate Easter cakes at home.

As for additional restrictions on movement during the Easter holidays, the mayor said that no such decision was made in Lviv.

"We have a quarantine; food shops and pharmacies are working. You can go out to the shop. On Saturday and Sunday, we join (to patrol, - hromadske) the National Guard, which controls parks and squares. The bishops and police have agreed on the position regarding the celebrations," Sadovoy explained.

He stressed that he himself will celebrate Easter holidays at home and urged others to do the same, as the length of the quarantine depends on the observance of restrictions.

"If we pass Easter well and there are no new infections, we will see the result in 2 weeks. If there is no growth on May 10-11, then we can do some easing," added the Lviv mayor.

As reported, quarantine requirements for the period of Easter holidays will be strengthened in the Kyiv region.
