The deputy of the Odessa City Council of the 6th and 7th convocations from the “Doveriai Delam” (“Trust in Deeds”) faction Irina Kutsenko-Esenovich got to the base of the “Mirotvorets” website for a Facebook post in which she urged to go to church at Easter during the coronavirus quarantine, reports “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine”.
“I am sure that everyone who will go to church on Sunday, but only with a sincere wish to honour God, will not get sick, the Lord will save them! This is faith – to never doubt God! And the Bible says ‘do not leave the meeting’, ‘Faith without works is dead!’ What Christian you are if you doubt God! Our family will go to church to worship God ... My post is that no one will cancel Easter! That our family will glorify God even if they shoot for it!” the deputy wrote on her Facebook page on April 14.
Due to the criticism of subscribers for the fact that the woman, being an official representative of the government, called for violating the requirement of the current quarantine, she removed her post after a while, but it was disseminated by the media.
The deputy was added to the database of the “Mirotvorets” website as a “provocateur” who committed “deliberate actions aimed at spreading a deadly disease (COVID) and mass infection of Ukrainian citizens”.
Later, the woman made an amendment to her post on Facebook, saying that many did not understand her appeal. She wrote that she was outraged by calls on social networks not to attend the church during the quarantine. “My post is nobody can cancel Easter! I hope so it’s clear! And yes, we will go in masks, glasses, and gloves! My mum, daughter, father, and son – everything is within the law!” said her message.
