April 18, 2020, on Holy Saturday in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher the ceremony of the descent of the Holy Fire takes place. This year, due to the quarantine, it looks very unusual – the temple is completely empty.

As reported earlier, the Israeli authorities allowed the Holy Fire descent ceremony to be held at the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem, taking into account all the restrictions imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Representatives of other countries will deliver the Holy Fire directly to the planes at Ben Gurion Airport.

The delegation of the UOC plans to bring the Holy Fire to Kyiv approximately at 19:00-20:00 on April 18. The UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich), said that everyone will be able to receive the Holy Fire, "we will not push anyone away, we will not offend anyone".
