On May 2, 2020, the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, published a congratulation to women on the Feast of Myrrh-Bearers, Pravlife reports.
“A woman has a special mission. It was made by the Creator to serve near ones, the Church, and God. She is an eternal mastermind in the family and at work. A woman can bring her neighbors to the Light, raise souls, fill lives with meaning or destroy them, therefore it is so important to remain a model of purity, meekness, kindness, mercy, fidelity and beauty,” the hierarch explained.
He noted, “Love, unconditional and unlimited, prompted the myrrh bearers to take a trip to the place of Christ's burial in the middle of the night and be the first to get to know the good news about the Resurrection of the Savior. They were not afraid of persecution and rudeness of the Roman guard or other threats, because true love knows no barriers – not even death.
The hierarch wished all women enormous and pure faith, joy, inspiration and love: “May the peace come to every house through the prayers of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women, and a bright Easter joy dwell in everybody’s heart.”
As reported by the UOJ, earlier Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) stated that Christianity is the destiny of strong and courageous people, while humility is valuable in the eyes of God and is gifted to man for having a brave heart.
