Primate lays flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Park of Eternal Glory

On May 9, 2020, at about 10 a.m., the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine prayed for the repose of the dead defenders of the Motherland and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Park of Eternal Glory in the city of Kyiv. The “Nash” TV channel live-streamed the event.
The Primate of the UOC congratulated all those gathered on Victory Day over Nazism and wished to be kind and worthy of the sacrifice made for the sake of peace on earth by the defenders of the Fatherland during the Second World War.
Together with the Primate, flowers were laid by the head of the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, Bishop Victor (Kotsaba) of Baryshevka, the head of the UOC Mission at European International Organizations, and Ukrainian MP Vadim Novinsky.
After laying flowers, the Primate of the UOC commented on the situation around the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and answered questions from journalists.
Earlier, he spoke of true patriotism and nationalism.
