On Sunday of Triumph of Orthodoxy, UOC Primate leads Liturgy at Kyiv Lavra

On March 5, 2023, on the first Sunday of Great Lent, during the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, His Beatitude Onuphry led a solemn service at the Church of St. Agapit of Pechersk at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports news.church.ua.
Before the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude led a special prayer service, which is only held on the first Sunday of Great Lent.
The service was concelebrated by the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavlo of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, Archbishop Viktor of Baryshivka, Archbishop Silvester of Bilohorodka, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, the clergy of the monastery, and guests in holy orders.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude addressed the community with a sermon.
During the Great Litany, they prayed for peace in the Ukrainian land.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry ordained Hierodeacon Ioasaf (Mironenko), a post-graduate student at the Kyiv Theological Academy. After the Eucharistic Canon, the Patriarch ordained Deacon Andriy Sydorenko, who will serve at the church of St. Mary of Egypt in the capital.
The service ended with a religious procession with holy icons to the Near Caves of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
