On June 21, 2020, on the Day of the Medical Worker, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, congratulated all the doctors on their professional holiday. The congratulation was published by the UOC Information and Education Department.
In his archpastor’s word after the end of the Sunday Divine Liturgy, the Primate emphasized that on this day the Church offers special prayers “for all who work in the field of medicine: for doctors, for junior medical personnel, for everyone who performs such a selfless feat today”.
According to him, doctors "expose themselves to the risk, serve to help everyone who is sick, offer their hand to everyone in need."
His Beatitude congratulated medical professionals on their holiday and wished everyone good health.
As reported by the UOJ, on the Day of the Medical Worker, with the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, prayers for doctors were offered in all temples and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
