Volyn region authorities prolonged the coronavirus quarantine, strengthening control over the observance of anti-epidemic measures, and introduced a number of additional restrictions, including regarding public religious events. This decision was made on June 22, 2020 at a meeting of the regional Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations, reports the press service of the Volyn RSA.
“The Volyn region is still among those who are still not ready to ease quarantine restrictions and move to the next stage of adaptive quarantine due to the high incidence rate,” the RSA said. “To date, the rate of detection of infections in the region is 21.16% (with the recommended no more than 11%), and the rate of growth of infection with COVID-19 is 23.5% (with the recommended no more than 10%).”
So, in connection with the epidemiological situation, since June 22, the work of public catering establishments (except for open areas and targeted delivery) and shopping and entertainment centres (excluding stores located in them) has been banned in the region. Pre-school and cultural and entertainment facilities, fitness centres, as well as the activities of institutions providing accommodation services, are banned.
Also, members of the regional commission imposed a ban on interregional regular and irregular transportation and religious events with the participation of more than 10 people.
In addition, in certain areas of the Volyn region where coronavirus outbreaks have been detected (including the Ratno and Kamen-Kashirsky districts), additional measures will be taken to prevent the spread of infection.
As reported earlier, the Vladimir-Volynsky Eparchy of the UOC called on the clergy and believers to strengthen security measures in connection with the epidemiological situation in the region.
