On 13 April 2023, the UOC spokesperson, Archpriest Mykola Danilevych, commented on the draft laws of the Verkhovna Rada aimed against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
On his Telegram channel, the priest wrote that "the lawyers of the Verkhovna Rada have concluded that the bill on the potential ban of the UOC contradicts the laws of Ukraine".
"It is good that there is still common sense and knowledge of the laws in the country, but it is bad that the VRU itself will not listen to its lawyers. At least, there is little hope," Archpriest Mykola Danilevych said.
As earlier reported, MP Nataliya Pypa said that the activity of the UOC in Ukraine should be banned before Easter, during Holy Week.
