On Bright Monday, April 17, 2023, the security forces came to the Bancheny Monastery with an order to mobilize the monks. Theologian Valentin Goya spoke about this on air on Romanian television.

He added that apparently, only those who are ill or under house arrest will be left.

“The rest – to the military registration and enlistment office and to the war. I can provide a copy of the document in Ukrainian, it can be translated and shown to everyone. I say with all responsibility: they want to mobilize Orthodox monks,” Valentin Goya said.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the abbot of the Bancheny Monastery called for the release of Viktoria Kokhanovska.
