On July 28, 2020, on the Day of the Christianization of Rus’, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, a festive bell ringing will be performed in all churches and monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church at noon local time, reports Patriarchia.ru.
Bell ringing on the occasion of the celebration of the Christianization of Rus’ has been held in churches and monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church since 2012 as part of the action "Glory to Thee, God!"
“Over the past eight years, this action has been included in the programme of events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Christianization of Rus’. For the first time, a one-time chime united Orthodox churches and monasteries in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan and a number of other countries in 2012,” the message says.
As the UOJ reported, with the blessing of the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, this year, due to the situation with the coronavirus epidemic, the traditional All-Ukrainian cross procession on the Day of the Christianization of Rus’ will be replaced by a prayer service with a festive chime in all churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
