On May 2, 2023, the UOC denied the reports of the Ministry of Culture about the “transfer” by the Monastery of the buildings of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which were “inspected” by the Commission of the Reserve that day. This is reported by the Information and Education Department.

“According to the lawyers of the Monastery, the indicated information about the acceptance and transfer of property does not correspond to reality. The agreement concluded in 2013 between the Monastery and the Reserve on the use of religious buildings and structures by the religious community is in force. Regarding the unilateral disavowal of the Reserve from the Agreement, the dispute is being resolved by the Economic Court of Kyiv. Until a single decision has been made on the case, the Monastery continues to use the premises and perform services,” the message says.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the commission of the Ministry of Culture “transferred 16 objects of the Kyiv Lavra to the use of the Reserve”.
