On May 2, 2023, the community of the seized UOC Cathedral in Khmelnytsky met with UN representatives, the vsim.ua resource reports.
“Three members of the monitoring mission for human rights met with representatives of the UOC, who had owned the temple before. Neither the former nor the latter entered the territory of the temple, because it was guarded and no one was allowed to enter. The police were also on the gorund,” the report says.
Recall that on April 2, the Intercession Cathedral was seized by a crowd of citizens, which was organized by the deputy of the Khmelnytsky City Council Viktor Burlyk. The reason for the seizure was a provocation during the service, when one of the activists in camouflage attacked the deacon and tore his vestments. Parishioners of the cathedral detained the aggressor. The final scene was filmed by an accomplice and posted by Burlyk on social networks. All Ukrainian media called the arrest of the provocateur "the beating of a military man."
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the parishioners of the seized UOC Cathedral in Khmelnytsky appealed to European countries.
