Archpriest Mykola Danilevych, a spokesperson for the UOC, called to help priests and laymen affected by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which resulted in flooding of rural and urban churches of the Kherson Eparchies, which were in the emergency area. The deputy head of the UOC DECR wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"The Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. Part of Kherson is flooded, as well as the villages. The priests I know have churches flooded; they are now rescuing what can be rescued from the churches. People are evacuating their homes," he said.

Father Mykola appealed to UOC priests and parishioners who are not currently in the disaster zone but live in the Ukrainian-controlled territory to help the communities of flooded churches on a regular basis.

"I myself will also do this with my parish We will regularly provide financial assistance to the family of a priest whose church was flooded. Bit by bit, but consistently, we need to support each other in these difficult times," wrote the UOC spokesperson.
