Metropolitan Longin, the abbot of the Ascension Monastery of Bancheni, told the UOJ that he does not admit the suspicion of "inciting inter-religious discord" against him and will continue to prove his case.

The hierarch said that law enforcers did not hand him a new suspicion during his interrogation. According to the bishop, he was only questioned in the criminal case related to the "incitement of inter-religious discord".

"I will now decide what to do next, how to prove my case. Those charges that have been brought against me, I do not admit, I do not admit any suspicion. The investigation has already gone ahead. I think (among the law enforcers – Ed.) there will be people who will defend the truth, not discord – what is going on now with our Church, in our state. I would like everyone to know that I love our state. I trust in the Constitution of our state and the law that protects the right of every citizen of this country," he said.

As reported, law enforcers announced suspicion against Metropolitan Longin of Bancheni.
