Celebrations of 100th anniversary of St Luke's ordination begin in Cherkasy

On June 10, 2023, celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the bishopric tonsure of St. Luke of Crimea began in the Cherkasy Eparchy, reports cherkasy.church.ua.
Before the all-night vigil, the reliquary with a part of the relics of St. Luke of Crimea was delivered from the Hole Cross Church of Kyiv to Cherkasy. The vicar of the Cherkasy Eparchy Bishop Anthony of Korsun-Shevchenkivsky, along with the clergy, numerous parishioners and guests, who arrived in Cherkasy for the festive celebrations, met the relics near the Cherkasy eparchial Office.
Then an all-night vigil with a lity was held at St. Michael’s Cathedral.
At the invitation of Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, Archbishop Nikolai of Kirovohrad and Novomirhorod, concelebrated by the vicar of Cherkasy Diocese, Bishop Anthony of Korsun-Shevchenkivsky, led the festive service.
The clergy of the eparchy and guests in holy orders served with the bishops.
At the festive matins, the bishops and clergy read the Akathist to St. Luke of Crimea.
In 2023, the UOC marks the 100th anniversary of the hierarchical consecration of the outstanding physician, saint and confessor of the XX century – Archbishop Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) of Simferopol and Crimea. On 18/31 May 1923, he was secretly ordained bishop of Tashkent and Turkestan in Panjakent by Bishop Daniel of Bolkhov and Bishop Basil of Suzdal.
As reported, the Metropolitan of Cherkasy said that St Luke's words about "renovationists" can be applied to the OCU.
