On June 25, 2023, at a sermon in the Monastery of Maniava, the head of the OCU Serhii Dumenko said that in the future all the Orthodox in Ukraine will unite around the Kyiv Patriarchate. The event was broadcast by Channel 5.

"The time will come and all Orthodox Ukrainians will unite around the Kyiv Patriarchate, around our Ukrainian Church," Dumenko promised and urged all present to offer prayers to God for this.

Whether this was a reservation remained unknown; Dumenko did not mention the name of the OCU.
