On July 2, 2023, activists voted to transfer the Intercession Church of the UOC in the village of Adamivka, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, to the jurisdiction of the OCU, as reported by "Suspilne".
According to the chairperson of the meeting, Nina Trembovetska, the transfer of the sanctuary was supported not only by local residents but also by "natives of the village, whose parents attended the church."
A total of 62 people voted in favor of the transfer, and the meeting took place in the local House of Culture.
However, Trembovetska noted that the actual parishioners of the Intercession Church of the UOC refused to participate in the meeting. She also mentioned that UOC believers categorically refused to vote, and their singing allegedly disrupted the meeting.
According to Father Andriy, the priest of the church, the community had previously held a meeting in which believers unanimously voted in favor of remaining loyal to the Church and Metropolitan Onuphry.
"I want to inform everyone present in this club: firstly, you are acting illegally. Because a meeting should be held in a sacred church under the chairmanship of a priest. If you had acted sensibly, you could have held your meeting and established your religious organization, in which you could have expressed all your preferences," the priest said, addressing the participants of the unauthorized meeting.
As reported by the UOJ, the parishioners of the Intercession Church in the village of Adamivka confirmed their loyalty to the UOC.
