The Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople has already considered the issue of taking control of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Protodeacon and ex-MP Vadym Novinsky said on Facebook.

According to him, the beginning of the forcible seizure of the buildings of the Lavra by the authorities is due to the meeting between Zelensky and Bartholomew, which took place on July 8 at Phanar.

“Responsibility for what is happening lies primarily with the top leadership of the country and the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who wants to get the Lavra for himself as a stauropegia. Consequently, it is planned to establish foreign jurisdiction over the Lavra, and the Ukrainian authorities are ready to facilitate this. This issue has already been considered by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Church,” said Fr. Vadym Novinsky.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to Greek media reports, Zelensky would discuss with Bartholomew the transfer of the Kyiv Lavra to the Phanar.
