Lawyer: Police don't let Lavra brethren to court session

Police officers blocked the entrance to the building of the Economic Court of Kyiv for the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monks, where on July 20, a hearing is to be held on the claim of the Reserve to evict the brethren from the monastery. The lawyer of the Lavra, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the monks are not allowed to go to court despite their applications for involvement in the case.

The police officer who blocked the entrance to the court building said that the monks of the Lavra would be let inside only if the judge decided to do so.

The published footage shows about 30 brethren of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and nearly 50 believers of the UOC near the Economic Court that as of 10:30 am.

As reported by the UOJ, a resident of the Lavra called on the believers of the UOC to support the brethren and lawyers of the monastery in the Economic Court of Kyiv on the day of the hearing on the eviction of the monks.
