Odesa: Service held in front of wonder-working icon near ruined cathedral

On 23 July 2023, at the destroyed Transfiguration Cathedral of the UOC a prayer service was held in front of the wonder-working Kasperovskaya icon of the Mother of God, which miraculously managed to survive, reports the press service of the Odessa Eparchy.

Before the shrine, akathist prayer singing was performed. The Akathist to the Mother of God was led by the vicar of the Odesa Eparchy, Archbishop Victor of Artsyz.

As reported, on the night of 23 July 2023, the Transfiguration Cathedral of the UOC in Odesa was heavily destroyed.

The Odesa Eparchy clerics showed the icon, which was taken out from under the rubble of the cathedral.
