To recognize the Tomos of autocephaly of the OCU means to agree to the emergence of the papacy in Orthodoxy. The head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko stated this in his address, published on October 19, 2020 on his official Facebook page.

Filaret noted that almost two years after its formation, the "so-called Orthodox Church of Ukraine" has not yet been recognized by other Local Orthodox Churches "except for those that recognized it in the first months."

“A lot of Orthodox Christians ask why the majority of Local Churches have not recognized and will never recognize the Orthodox Church of Ukraine as autocephalous? To recognize this Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine means to accept the content of the document, which no longer enshrines the primacy of honor of the Patriarch of Constantinople in Orthodoxy, but his primacy of power,” he specified.

According to him, recognizing the Tomos granted to the OCU on January 6, 2019 means "admitting the emergence of a kind of papacy in Orthodoxy."

“Proceeding from the fact that it violates the purity of Orthodoxy, no Orthodox Church can recognize the Tomos, as long as She cares about the preservation of purity of Orthodoxy,” Filaret stressed.

In conclusion, the head of the schismatic UOC-KP called on "all Orthodox Christians in Ukraine and throughout the world to stand firmly on the principles of Holy Orthodoxy and not depart from it."

We will remind, earlier Filaret said that Poroshenko had forced him to give up his primacy in the OCU.
