President of Ukraine invites religious organizations to join TCG

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and invited religious organizations to join the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), reports the website of the Head of State.

During the meeting, the President of Ukraine thanked the representatives of religious organizations for participating in the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group and spoke for their involvement in the TCG's work in the humanitarian field.

According to Zelensky, representatives of religious organizations could take part in resolving issues of the mutual release of detained persons, access of the International Committee of the Red Cross to places of detention in the temporarily occupied territories, etc.

As reported earlier, according to the Deputy Prime Minister for the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Alexei Reznikov, the Trilateral Contact Group for resolving the situation in the Donbass should include various confessions – not only the UOC but also the OCU, Catholics, Muslims and Jews - "so as not to offend anyone".

In turn, the NSDC called processions and peaceful forums anti-Ukrainian activity, and a Uniate priest from the city of Chervonohrad, Lviv region, Mykhailo Nyskoguz, threatened Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky with hell for peace initiatives.
