On October 19, 2020, the head of Phanar, Patriarch Bartholomew, during his participation in an ecumenical prayer service organized by the Catholic Community of Sant'Egidio in Rome, said that other religions are “the wealth of the sons of God”, reports the official website of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

In his speech, Patriarch Bartholomew noted, "From the Holy and Great Church of Christ, from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, from the City of Constantine, we come to the Eternal City, to bring a message not only of peaceful coexistence among peoples but a more meaningful message: ‘This command I give you: that you love each other. A commitment of participation and sharing in the joys and difficulties of one and the other."

According to the head of the Phanar, “there are so many stories, so many peoples, so many faiths, so many cultures, they are the wealth of the sons of God, but there is only one people, the people of men and women, creation of God and image of God to which we all belong as ‘God out of one he created all the nations of men so that they might inhabit the whole face of the earth’ (Acts 17:26)."

As reported, Patriarch Bartholomew took part in an ecumenical prayer service in Rome.
