Concert in Lavra marks 950th anniversary of Dormition Cathedral’s founding

On August 27, 2023, a guest concert organized by the National Reserve of the same name was held in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, timed to coincide with the 950th anniversary of the founding of the Assumption Cathedral. This is reported by the Reserve's Facebook page.
Artists from the Dnipro Music and Drama Theater named after T. Shevchenko presented a performance about the "history of restoration and spiritual greatness of the Great Pechersk Church." In addition, musical compositions were performed by the symphony orchestra and choir of the theater.
The event was also attended by Acting Geeneral Director of the reserve Maksym Ostapenko and "acting abbot of the Lavra Avraamiy Lotysh," appointed by the leadership of the OCU.
Speaking to the audience, Ostapenko said that "today the Lavra is restoring everything related to Ukrainian concepts, retaining Orthodox traditions, honoring figures, events that developed and preserved the national cultural heritage."
As the UOJ reported, on January 22, 2023, a concert of the Kozatska Chorea group was held in the Lavra Church of Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves.
On Forgiveness Sunday, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy used the façade of the closed Assumption Cathedral to stage a light show by the Swiss artist Gerry Hofstetter.
On September 2, an evening of symphonic music took place on the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral.
