On September 3, 2023, in the Montenegrin city of Cetinje, a meeting of the "Montenegrin Church" took place, during which Boris Bojovic was elected as the new head of the organization, replacing Miraš Dedeic, reported portalanalitika.
According to journalist A. Soldatov, who was present in the meeting, Bojovic announced a course towards "recognizing the Constantinople Patriarchate as the Mother Church".
Miras Dedeic did not recognize his dismissal. Thus, formally, there are now two leaders in the "Montenegrin Church".
As earlier reported, in 2019, Bojan Bojovic served together with the OCU at a "liturgy" with Metropolitan Emmanuel of France (Phanar) in Kyiv, which caused a big scandal. The OCU stated that the participation of schismatics in the OCU's liturgy did not imply their recognition while Metropolitan Emmanuel said that he was unaware of the schismatics' participation in the service.
