On the night of 20 September 2023, unknown persons desecrated the Lavra Chapel of the icon "Praise of the Caves" and the holy spring "Tears of the Blessed Virgin Mary", reports the lawyer of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Nikita Chekman on his Telegram channel.
Attackers marred the walls of the temple and the spring with paint. Also near the shrine, unknown persons drew the signs of the sword and Prussian Iron Cross used by Nazi Germany until 1945.
The lawyer noted that the police had already been called to the scene of the incident.
As reported, a vandal damaged the icon of the Saviour in the Lavra Church of Agapitius of the Caves.
