American transgender journalist Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, who in early August 2023 became the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Western countries, was removed from her post. The Telegram channel “Politika Strany” writes about this with reference to a message from the command of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the X social network.
“Sergeant Ashton-Cirillo’s statements in recent days have not been approved by the TRO command and the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the report notes. “When conducting military operations against the aggressor, the Ukrainian Defense Forces strictly comply with the norms of international humanitarian law. The command will conduct an internal investigation into the circumstances of these statements. Appropriate decisions will be made. Sergeant Sarah Ashton-Cirillo will be suspended from duty with immediate effect pending the outcome of the investigation."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Ashton-Cirillo announced the destruction of one of the Russian propagandists, saying that this would be done with the help of faith in God.
