MP Mykyta Poturaev, in an interview with Espreso, said that it is necessary to work to increase pressure on deputies in order to force them to vote for the ban on the UOC.
According to Poturaev, there are currently nearly 200 signatures of MPs in favor of banning the UOC, but to ensure the result, it is necessary to have not just 226 (required for the passage of the bill) but 230 or 240 votes.
To achieve this, as Poturaev says, "we need to work more."
"Our situation, I want to emphasize, is not entirely hopeless. In essence, we should now be saying that all factions within the group should work to ensure that we have the additional necessary 40, or preferably 50 votes. In my view, this is an achievable goal, and I am convinced that it should still be accomplished," says the MP.
For this purpose, he called for pressuring the MPs.
"I have repeatedly said that, unfortunately, we won't achieve this without pressure from the public and the media," Poturaev stated.
According to him, "the entire country should know specifically which members of the Verkhovna Rada are ready to vote even before the vote and who is not." For this, he called on "media colleagues and those from the public sector" to call the MPs and demand that they publicly state their position on banning the UOC.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Karas promised to "beat up" MPs who do not vote for the ban on the UOC.
