On September 25, 2023, members of the Holy Synod of the UOC made the decision to remove Metropolitan Longin from the position of abbot of the Bancheny Monastery, reports the UOC press service following the Synod meeting.

However, the UOC did not specify the reasons for the replacement or who was appointed as the new abbot of the monastery.
