Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk removed from UOC Synod

On September 25, 2023, during a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a decision was made to remove Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol from the permanent members of the Synod, reports the UOC press service.

According to the information released, the decision regarding Metropolitan Hilarion was made due to his inability to participate in the meetings of the Holy Synod.

Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets has been appointed as the new permanent member of the UOC Synod.

As previously reported, the UOC Synod also changed the head of the Bancheny Monastery.
