MP Oleksandr Dubinskyy explained on his YouTube channel why bill No. 8371, which proposes banning the UOC, will not be enacted in the end.
He mentioned that the bill will be set aside as soon as the European Commission and the EU raise concerns about human rights violations in connection with the potential ban on the UOC.
"It will never receive final approval. You can remember this tweet, save this video, keep this piece of information – you will see how the European Commission will react... The violation of the rights of the religious community in Ukraine will be strongly criticized by the European Commission because the bill contradicts the European values that Ukraine upholds," he stated.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the UOC ban.
