On January 2, 2021, Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus said that every communion in a pandemic is a confession of faith, according to Romfea publication.

During the divine service in a small church (Hesychastria) in honor of the Monk Seraphim of Sarov in Skuriotis, Cyprus, Metropolitan Neophytos said that “every service that is taking place now, whether it is solemn, as it is today, or a regular one with only one choir singer, a priest and two believers are very important."

According to him, "each service and each visit to the temple, inside or outside it, is a confession of faith."

“Every time you partake in the traditional way established by the Mother Church throughout the centuries, it is a confession of faith. Please continue to do this in our humble diocese. Let the law do what it is supposed to do, while people of faith do what they are supposed to do,” Vladyka emphasized.

“We live not only for the earth, but also for the sky. When heaven speaks to us of something other than earth, we prefer heaven. I will go a thousand times to prison, but I will be with the Great King and I will serve the Liturgy. I will co-liturgise together with Saint Seraphim. A thousand times, a thousand prisons, not just one. A thousand!” said Metropolitan Neophytos.

In conclusion, Metropolitan of Morphou emphasized, “Remember that a very big holiday is approaching. The Fathers say that Easter is equal to Epiphany. Let no one miss the Epiphany Liturgy."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to the official representative of the Greek government, Stelios Petsas, this year’s celebration of the Epiphany will be held behind closed doors for believers.
