The rector of the Intercession Church of the UOC in the village of Novi Petrivtsi in the Kyiv region, Father Georgy Boyko, said in an interview published on the Telegram channel KozakTv1 that believers must defend the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to protect it from desecration and disgrace.
According to the priest, the UOC believers are powerless against the Ukrainian authorities, but they come to stand near the Lavra to pray and draw strength and inspiration from God.
"Every Orthodox person comes to the walls of the Lavra for one simple reason – not to let dark forces, which now feel their power and support, mock it. We come to pray for the Lavra not to be desecrated and the monks not to be driven out of the monastery. As long as the Lavra stands, we will endure at our parishes," he said.
As reported, a participant in the prayer standing near the Lavra expressed confidence that God will defeat the evil that is going on in the country.
