One must always be with Christ – both in the days of prosperity and in the days of sorrow and persecution. The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, said in his sermon on the Week after the Nativity of Christ, January 10, 2021, after the Divine Liturgy in the Assumption Cathedral of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

The video of the Primate’s homily was published by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Having told the believers about the flight of righteous Joseph to Egypt with the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Infant God, His Beatitude Onuphry urged the flock to always be with Christ.

“We should be with Christ not only when they say 'Hosanna!', when they praise us, when they clap our hands for it, but when they say 'Crucify'. Being with Christ when Christ is reproached is the greatest gift that a person can bring to God. May the Lord help us, dear brothers and sisters, to always be with Christ – both in the days of prosperity and in the days of sorrow and persecution, because Christ is unchanging and so is His Truth. And the one who is with Him always wins,” emphasized the Primate of the UOC.

We will remind, earlier the UOJ published a video congratulation of the Primate of the UOC on the Nativity of Christ.
